[s p a c e]: a mix for crossing galaxies and the vast physics of the cosmos, the beginning of universes, the silent death of stars, and the infinite great black distance we flicker in.
"…good looks are no substitute for a sound character."
The Pirate Planet - season 16 - 1978
I love how Romana is biting her jelly baby all in the Doctor’s face even as he’s telling her off for stealing them.
sometimes you just gotta sit and think, “why am I obeying a giant snake that looks like Nigel Thornberry”
November 28th | Song of the Day | "Ska Robot Army!"
Artist: The Aquabats!
Album: The Return of The Aquabats (1996)
"Ska Robot Army," is a fast, poppy, mostly instrumental favorite of mine, and I think the perfect song to start off SiNBread’s Song of the Day. The lyrics are sparse; other than the chorus, the only spoken words are "encouraging" remarks from The Commander and bizarre, hilarious ramblings. (transcribed here) The Return of The Aquabats, despite the name, is the band’s debut album, and was independently released. The band pressed and sold the CDs themselves - remarkable, considering they sold over 24,000 copies! Over the years, The Aquabats’ music would gradually get more and more into rock and new-wave territory, but their debut album’s reception cemented them as the heroes the third wave deserved.
They’re coming to take over,
To terrorize the earth.
They’re skanking in their best suits, so
Beware of the Ska Robot Army!
One of my favorites, even if it was written to poke fun at the 3rd wave OC ska scene.
It fits seeing as The Aquabats were formed to poke fun at Gogo13.
